Early Milestones and Founding Vision
BTAL quickly distinguished itself with its ability to design, develop, and install biogas digesters that provided sustainable energy alternatives. Our first institutional biogas digester installation came in 2005/ proving the feasibility of biogas for large-scale cooking and energy needs and setting the stage for our expansion into the institutional energy sector. This period of growth was marked by significant achievements.

Today, these organic materials are recognized not as waste, but as valuable discards—or Materials in Transit (MINT) — full of untapped potential. Founded in 2001 by the visionary John Afari Idan, BTAL has led the development and implementation of discard-to – energy solutions across Ghana and the broader African continent, providing a cleaner and more sustainable alternative to traditional energy sources.
